Your work will directly support our mission to keep Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between-and to enable effective rehabilitation when injuries occur.You’ll lead the planning and implementation of ACC’s foundational survey system principles, ensuring our survey programme is efficient, scalable, and future-focused. These principles include modular design, automation, cascaded reporting, inclusive and needs-based insights, and collaborative data stewardship. Your work will help our team embed these principles into how we collect, analyse, and report survey insights and feedback. This will ensure ACC has timely and relevant insights to inform strategic and operational decision-making.You’ll champion innovation in survey methodology, foster continuous learning across the team, and enable cascaded reporting that amplifies people’s voices at every level of the organisation. You’ll also ensure our survey data is treated as a shared asset, supporting knowledge sharing, accessibility, and integration with other data sources across ACC.You’ll work collaboratively with subject matter experts across ACC to provide research leadership focused on the integration, translation, and accessibility of insights and data. This role is ideal for an experienced researcher with a proven ability to design, implement, analyse, and translate complex survey insights for diverse audiences. You’ll be confident in your analytical and synthesis skills, with a passion for best-practice translation and plain language communication. You’ll have a strong track record of working with stakeholders to design and analyse technical findings and translate these into compelling insight stories that support decision-making.You’re also a natural collaborator, influencer, and communicator. You build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across performance, data, research, and operational teams. You’re comfortable working alongside technical specialists in case management, analytics, digital channels, research, and enterprise architecture. You bring a demonstrable history of partnering with enterprise stakeholders and senior leaders to identify evidence and insight needs and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions. You’re confident working at pace. Experience or interest in developing a deep understanding of ACC’s service delivery and operations will further strengthen your impact in this role.This is a permanent, Wellington location is preferred. We welcome secondment requests from within the public sector for the right candidate.About you | MōuYou’ll bring at least 5 to 10 years of research experience, with deep expertise in survey design, analysis, and translation of insights into strategic and operational action. You’re a confident and curious researcher who thrives on complexity, and you’re passionate about using evidence to drive meaningful change. You have a strong track record of leading research programmes, influencing decision-makers, and building capability in others.You’ll hold a postgraduate qualification (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant discipline involving survey research or statistical analysis. You’re passionate about making insights accessible and actionable. The base salary range for this role is $117,787 and $152,430 with appointment depending on skills and experience.
