Job description: Job Purpose:The role will be based on-site, at a customer in the pharmaceutical industry, in Stevenage, UK. The Lab Services Leader, Inventory Management position is responsible for the management of the Lab Services team, focusing on chemical management, materials management and the central storage facility service. This leadership role is designed to provide supervisory support as well as drive process improvements and growth within the customer’s organization. The role will support GSK sites across EMEA.Job Responsibilities:Lead the lab services team to ensure the delivery of uninterrupted service to the customers in the lab. To accomplish this, the individual must drive operational excellence by strategically managing resources as well as identifying areas of improvement.Act as supervisor to team members and provide coaching, performance review, and other administrative functions.Interface with key customer contacts to ensure KIPs are being hit and customer satisfaction is at a high-level.Identify areas of growth within the existing customer program and support outside activities to promote the overall expansion of the program as needed.This is a working leadership role; therefore, it is important that the leader can perform all necessary functions of the lab services team as needed.To work with customer and PerkinElmer staff to ensure quality and compliance within the laboratory.To work in collaboration with customer line safety representatives to ensure a high level of safety is maintained.Meet regularly with key stakeholders (lab staff, service providers, management) to identify, review and resolve issues in a timely manner and/or escalate as necessary.To coordinate periodic review of service level agreement contracted tasks with all relevant groups (customer lines, management, etc.).Responsible for the coordination of training.Ability to travel regionally as required, up to 20%.Basic Qualification:1+ year of supervisory or team lead experienceA-level qualifications with 3+ years’ experience working in a laboratory environmentHND/Foundation degree with 2+ years’ experience working in a laboratory environmentBachelor’s degree with 1+ years’ experience working in a laboratory environmentAbility to follow oral and written instructionsExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsExperience in various IT systems, especially related to inventory managementPreferred Experience:Experience in a GxP environmentKnowledge of chemicals and safe handlingKnowledge of 5S principlesKnowledge of environmental health and safetyExperience in a customer facing role and ability to provide excellent customer serviceJoin our Team!We are strongly committed to the development of your career and giving you opportunities to learn and grow.We make a difference for you while you make a difference in the world!
