Job description: SRA Staffing is seeking an experienced **IT Operations Consultant** with executive-level expertise to lead high-profile initiatives advancing the target state IT Operating Model (ITOM). This role will drive the modernization of IT capabilities, mitigate enterprise risks, and support strategic transformation projects. The IT Operations Consultant will work full-time (36.25 hours/week) on-site with our public sector/crown client to ensure alignment with the IT risk mitigation portfolio and organizational goals over a 2-year engagement with an opportunity for extensions.The client’s head office is in Winnipeg, MB, with a minimum 25% onsite requirement.Key Responsibilities:
– **Lead ITOM Implementation:** Oversee the IT Operating Model to address IT maturity gaps, optimize services, and increase operational effectiveness.
– **Establish IT Processes:** Define and implement foundational IT processes to meet business needs and improve efficiency.
– **Enhance IT Organizational Structure:** Redesign IT roles and structure to align with the target state model and evolving business demands.
– **Talent Acquisition Support:** Develop job descriptions, facilitate reviews, and support recruitment for key IT roles.
– **Capacity and Workforce Planning:** Monitor IT headcount and utilization to balance “run ” vs. “grow ” priorities.
– **Staff Development:** Upskill IT staff and leadership through coaching and mentoring, enhancing collaboration and engagement.
– **Executive Advisory:** Act as a trusted advisor to the CTO on IT strategy, service improvements, and risk management.
– **Portfolio Management:** Oversee IT risk mitigation and modernization projects, including cloud migration, Office 365 deployment, and data integration.
– **Stakeholder Collaboration:** Engage with stakeholders to define requirements and manage project dependencies.
– **Vendor and Resource Management:** Manage external vendors and ensure effective resource allocation across initiatives.Qualifications:
– **Executive IT Leadership:** Proven experience at a senior level (Director or above) in IT operations within insurance or related industries.
– **ITOM Implementation:** Strong knowledge of IT Operating Model frameworks, including “Pattern Three–Service Optimizing Operating Model. “
– **IT Process Improvement:** Expertise in public sector IT process enhancement and capability building.
– **Cloud and Modern Workplace Management:** Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud infrastructure, Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Teams).
– **Project and Portfolio Leadership:** Skilled in managing complex, multi-year IT portfolios focused on technology transformation.
– **Coaching and Development:** Ability to mentor IT staff for career growth and performance improvement.Preferred Qualifications:
– **Vendor Management:** Experience in strategic supplier governance and negotiations.
– **Project Management Certification:** PMP® or PMI® certification is a plus.
– **Strong Communication Skills:** Proficiency in managing complex and sensitive issues through effective consultation and mediation.
