Job description: Joining our client as an IT Business Analyst within the People Systems team for a 6-month contract you will play a pivotal role in analyzing business needs, identifying solutions, and supporting HR technology initiatives. This role ensures that business requirements are clearly documented, optimized for system capabilities, and translated into effective functional and technical solutions. The IT Business Analyst will work cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, Finance, Compliance, and IT teams to ensure seamless implementation and adoption of HR technologies.AdvantagesResponsibilities
Business & System Analysis
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for HR technology initiatives.
Evaluate existing processes and recommend technology-driven solutions for efficiency, automation, and compliance.
Serve as a liaison between HR, Payroll, IT, and external vendors to bridge business and technical needs.Requirements & Functional Specifications
Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
Define minimum feature set, acceptance criteria, and user acceptance test cases for new system implementations and enhancements.
Ensure technical documentation is comprehensive and aligns with operational needs.System Implementation & Support
Assist in the design, testing, and deployment of HRIS enhancements, integrations, and new system functionalities.
Work with IT and vendor teams to assess system capabilities, configurations, and potential customizations.
Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot system issues, collaborating with technical teams to implement fixes.Data & Reporting
Work with HR, Payroll, and Finance to create and validate reports, dashboards, and analytics.
Analyze HR data flows to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with data governance standards.Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement
Assist in managing HR system projects, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
Support change management efforts by developing training materials and facilitating knowledge transfer.
Communicate project updates and risks to business leaders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Qualifications
Strong understanding of HRIS solutions (e.g., UKG Pro, iCIMS, Pangea, emPerform) and their integration points.
Solid knowledge of HR, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Management, and Compliance processes.
Experience with HR data integrations to internal and external business systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data analysis tools.
Hands-on experience with reporting tools such as Cognos BI, Power BI, or SQL-based reporting.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and present actionable insights.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving business needs.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in HRIS business analysis, system configuration, or HR technology projects.
Experience working with HR, Payroll, and Talent Management systems, preferably UKG Pro, iCIMS, or Workday.
Strong understanding of system integrations, data structures, and HR process automation.
Ability to write functional specs, document business processes, and test system enhancements.
Demonstrated experience managing HRIS-related projects and driving process improvements.
Experience with reporting tools (Cognos BI, SQL, Power BI, etc.) for HR data analysis is preferred.Summary
