Zentiva employs more than 4,700 people, has several internal production sites as well as partnering with a global network of external contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs).Supply Chain is one of the fundamental functions of Zentiva that are helping to optimize across the commercial triangle of Service, Cost and Capital Employed.The Inventory Manager role (IM) plays a crucial role in ensuring that both Zentiva’s customer and patient needs are being met, offering the highest service at competitive cost.The IM role helps support both strategic and tactical inventory decisions that are being taken across the Zentiva portfolio – being manufactured in both the internal production sites, as well as across the CMO network. These inventory decisions impact numerous areas including: production, capacity utilization, budgeting, management of service, launch coordination and industrial project teamsThe IM role is a strong advocate of the Zentiva S&OP process; acting proactively to support inventory management processes – including inventory projections into the mid/long term horizon to ensure avoidance of excess inventory (wherever possible).The IM role holds functions accountability for specific inventory types (ie. RM – Sites, WIP – Planning, FG – Commercial) (NB. RM: API, excipients, packaging)The IM role is an experienced practitioner of inventory management processes within Pharma/Generics or FMCG, with strong interpersonal skills and motivation to deliver the highest level of service to both internal and external customers.ROLE PURPOSE

  • Fully integrate inventory management into the Zentiva S&OP Process – taking the lead on all inventory topics
  • Lead on all inventory (RM, WIP, FG) management processes – including the reporting on all inventory management initiatives from across the company (directly supporting to those initiatives as required or instructed by the SIOPS Lead)
  • Hold accountable those functions who own specific inventory types (in terms of proactive inventory management)
  • Consolidate inventory projections to ensure avoidance of excess inventory (wherever possible).
  • Maximize customer service by minimizing out of stock situations
  • Increase business profitability by the proactive management of product supply

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the company’s inventory strategy is being applied at global & local level – and to all inventories (both current and planned)
  • Responsible for all aspects of inventory management within S&OP:
  • Lead on all RM, WIP & FG inventory topics being reported
  • Report on all inventory management initiatives from across the company (including: Inventory excess, MOQ, Safety Stock, Segmentation, ESO, Launch, Transfers, M&A)
  • Consolidate inventory projections to ensure avoidance of excess inventory (wherever possible).
  • Measure, control, and improve inventory management processes through clearly defined metrics/KPIs – ensuring stakeholder accountability for their respective KPI
  • Provide support to all incoming additional topics to S&OP – ensuring inventory management is considered as part of their inclusion
  • Participate in the development of statistical models and system structures to optimize inventories without negatively affecting customer service level. Analyse inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste or improve customer service.
  • Create and drive continuous improvement of world-class inventory management processes
  • Establish critical inventory parameters. Ensure inventory parameters (ie. MOQ, S/S) are being reviewed in a systematic way – so as to continuously support to high customer service level
  • Continuously challenge to those teams accountable for RM (site) and FG (Commercial) to maintain inventories that are aligned to the most recent demand forecasts (RM: API, excipient, packaging)
  • Work cross-functionally to communicate common goals, solicit information, and gain consensus and buy-in; ensure inventory management processes continuously evolve to better support company objectives

HARD SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Minimum 6 years experience of having designed and implemented numerous inventory management processes within a regulated or FMCG industry – including reporting and ongoing tracking of performance
  • Experience of materials/production planning– with a specific focus on inventory – within a regulated industry (preferably generics pharma or FMCG)
  • Good working knowledge of requirement planning and/or MRP
  • Good working knowledge of S&OP – with inventory management embedded into the process
  • Experience of CMO supplier management (preferred)
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and key commercial drivers (within a manufacturing environment)
  • Proven understanding of Supply Chain including: demand & stock management, prod/scheduling processes, capacity management, monthly reporting, CMO supply, WH & Logistics, S&OP – KPI tracking etc
  • Proven analytical skills – able to produce data/reports with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to generate insights from quantitative and qualitative analysis. Develop creative solutions to complex problems.
  • English: Advanced level (other languages are an advantage)
