Job description: Essential Job Functions Develop and implement comprehensive internal control systems to ensure compliance with local regulations and international financial reporting standards. Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management practices. Collaborate with management to identify areas of financial and operational risk and develop mitigation strategies. Guide and advise the respective Heads of Department to implement and monitor internal control systems in their respective departments. Lead the preparation and revision of internal policies and procedures to enhance process efficiency and control effectiveness. Manage and keep proper records of all policies and procedures. Coordinate with external auditors, outsourced internal auditors and consultants to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with external regulatory requirements. Coordinate with relevant departments pertaining to the findings raised during the audits and propose solutions on improvement activities. Prepare and present detailed reports on audit findings and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors. Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and verify the closure of audit findings. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in internal controls and compliance. Manage and coordinate the external audits required by customers on suppliers (Eg. SMETA audit, SCS Security audit, CTPAT (US Custom Audit), Factory Capability & Capacity Audit, PEFC, FSC amongst others) Lead the risk management activities of the Group such as maintaining and updating the risk register, coordinate among all the departments on updating the risk register. Lead on all Sustainability / ESG matters for the Group including but not limited to planning of the ESG framework, materiality assessment, compiling all relevant information, preparation of the sustainability statement in the annual report and presentation to the Board of Directors. Create awareness to all staff on the importance of internal control related matters via briefings, updates, etc. Skills/ Knowledge/ Additional Remarks Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA) is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal auditing or internal controls, preferably within the furniture industry. Strong knowledge of financial regulations and reporting requirements in Malaysia and familiarity with international standards. Proven ability to lead and manage teams in a dynamic environment. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems. Show more Show less
