With presence in every department, we analyse performance, and deliver actionable insights that shape our strategic decisions.About the RoleReporting into the Senior Manager, Internal Audit, this role will see you support delivery of the Coles Internal Audit Plan, assisting in the design and execution of activities across the end-to-end audit lifecycle (scoping, fieldwork, and reporting).You will also;

  • Support preparation of reports to Senior Management and the Coles Audit and Risk Committee and administer audit action follow-up
  • Support management of day-to-day third-party service provider activities and delivery (KPMG)
  • Work with the broader audit team to scope assigned audits, formulate work programs, perform audit procedures, identify opportunity for improvement and document results
  • Operate within Coles’ internal audit methodology and in line with the Global IIA standards to review processes, develop work papers and provide detailed reports for management forums and the Board Audit & Risk Committee
  • Deliver annual audits, including coordination and conducting independent assessment of Coles’ ability to manage and control risks and provide advice to management to improve internal controls
  • Leverage data to provide data-driven insights and ways of testing through the delivery of audits

About you and your skillsWe are looking for a dynamic self-starter with previous experience working in fast paced, high performing teams in complex organisations. Your skillset will include report writing, project management, and overseeing service provider relationships. You’ll also be process driven, analytical and curious, and comfortable working cross-functionally outside of the finance realm with all levels of stakeholders.You will also ideally have;

  • CA/CPA or Certified Internal Auditor qualification preferred
  • Internal audit experience in a Retail or FMCG environment highly advantageous
  • Experience leading small to medium audits, including operational, financial and strategic audits
  • Deep understanding of risk management and audit principles, methods and techniques
