Job description: We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Account Manager to join our dynamic team. As an Account Manager, you will be instrumental in managing and developing relationships with both new and existing customers. contribute to the overall business growth by utilising your strategic sales skills and product knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Account Management

  • Manage assigned accounts effectively, meeting established sales call quotas, and consistently achieving sales targets.
  • Stay up to date on market conditions, competitor activities, and trends within the industry, ensuring alignment with product offerings and customer needs.
  • Open new trading accounts and explore new opportunities to expand market reach.
  • Develop and maintain deep product knowledge through training, enabling effective solution-based selling.
  • Proactively identify sales opportunities, both within existing accounts and new markets.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development Managers (BDMs) to maximize cross-functional sales opportunities.
  • Monitor competitor activities and evaluate market trends to spot new opportunities for growth.
  • Contribute to product development initiatives to better serve customer needs and enhance sales.
  • Partner with internal sales teams to ensure seamless execution of customer requirements and service delivery.

Reporting & Administration

  • Complete daily Visit Reports and collaborate with the sales support team to ensure follow-up actions are implemented.
  • Prepare and submit monthly sales reports on time, providing insights and data analysis on sales performance and territory management.

General Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in managing working capital targets, ensuring prompt action on overdue debts and contributing to efficient cash flow management.
  • Contribute to the budgeting process by accurately forecasting sales and profit within your designated sales area.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Regional Sales Manager or General Manager.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external customers, and suppliers to ensure business success and customer satisfaction.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
Education:

  • A degree in Business or a relevant field is desirable.

Experience:

  • Experience in a food-related business (manufacturing or distribution) is an advantage.
  • Previous experience working with Irish retailers is a plus.
  • Proven ability in solution selling and identifying customer needs to tailor effective solutions.
  • Solid track record in building sales figures and margins within a competitive, mature market.
  • Experience in strategic relationship management with key accounts and customers.
  • Expertise in consultative and persuasive sales techniques.

  • A pragmatic approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Self-starter with the motivation to work independently while contributing to team goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
