By working together, we further strengthen the trust and relatability our brands are known for across Australia.About the roleOver more than a decade, Coles has demonstrated its commitment to providing opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, organisations, communities, and customers to engage with our business.As our new Indigenous Events & Partnerships Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering impactful First Nations engagement programs and nationwide events and sponsorship initiatives. From NAIDOC Week to the Koori Knockout, you’ll drive programs that make a real difference-both within our business and in the communities we support.This is a fast-paced, high-impact role where you’ll have the autonomy to shape and deliver programs that genuinely matter.   • Plan and execute activities around key events & sponsorships – Reconciliation Week, NAIDOC Week, The Long Walk and more.
  • Manage partnerships & contracts – ensure our partnerships deliver real social impact and return on investment.
  • Coordinate our First Nations Team Member Network – ensure the right messages are communicated at the right time, working closely with our communications team.
  • Develop and roll out self-identification programs.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders on RAP initiatives and Indigenous Affairs issues.
  • Collaborate with internal and external comms teams, marketing, and other stakeholders.

About you & your skillsYou’ll have 3-5 years’ experience working in events/ community engagement / partnerships on a national level coming from a corporate, sport, or charity background.Importantly, you’ll bring a sound understanding of First Nations communities and cultural protocols and/or hands on experience in First Nations community and stakeholder engagement, community development/social program delivery.A brilliant communicator, you’re confident in supporting contract negotiation, reporting, and storytelling-showing business impact through real outcomes.You’ll also need:

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong writing/communication skills.
  • Contract negotiation skills.
  • Experience delivering business-wide initiatives and programs in a large organisation.
