The resort also features 22 Food and Beverage outlets, 1,056 sqm ballroom with 8 breakout rooms, wide variety of recreational facilities, and two spas including the sole Luban Spa in Oman.Job SummaryAs Income Auditor, you will be responsible for verifying and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions related to the hotel’s operations. This role involves auditing daily revenue streams, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports for management review, playing a crucial role in maintaining financial controls and compliance with policiesAs a General Cashier, we rely on you to:-Review and verify the Night Auditor’s logbook, daily revenue report, and daily Food & Beverage report with supporting vouchers and trial balanceDistribute daily reports after obtaining the Director of Finance’s approvalReview rate variance reports to ensure the correct rate is appliedReview city ledger and credit card transfers and forward them to Accounts ReceivableAudit the daily cash summary and update the General Cashier’s reportReview overages and shortages of cashiers and take appropriate action; review Front Office foreign exchange rates as requiredConduct float counting of all house fund holders on a weekly basis and prepare a monthly float count summaryLiaise with operational departments to address financial discrepancies and improve revenue reporting processesProvide financial analysis and insights to support decision-makingVerify revenues for minor operating departments, such as telephone charges, and ensure their interface has no errorsFollow up on any issues raised by the night auditor and investigate room discrepancies that may arise between Housekeeping and Front office reportsVerify that all revenues are registered in their respective outlets and shifts, ensuring that daily revenues and settlements are in balance.Verify the General cashier report and validate the collections with that reported in operaVerify all rebates and bring unjustified rebates to the attention of the financial controllerVerify the posting of all outlets for their factual and arithmetic correctnessBalance credit card settlements to Opera report, transmit credit card batches when balance is complete, and reconcile transmittal report against First Data processing reportReconcile Micros and PMS bookingsVerify and reconcile the guest ledger balance with the trial balance.What we’re looking forA degree in hotel management or accounting.At least one year of previous experience within a hotel environment.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.Familiarity with accounting and auditing principlesExcellent verbal and written English communication skillsComputer literacy is a must; knowledge of Opera, Micros, FBM, and SUN System is an assetAdvanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting softwareExcellent analytical skills and attention to detailStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Muscat
