Being a leader in research and innovation and providing a working environment focused on personal development, team work and wellbeing, the Mater Hospital is a great place to work.Our ambition is to be the safest hospital in Ireland, delivering the highest quality care, with the most patient-centred, efficient processes.Description:Responsibilities of Strategic Projects Implementation LeadIn consultation with the Executive Lead for Strategic Projects, the Strategic Projects Implementation Lead will partner with work-stream leads to ensure successful programme planning and delivery. He/She will lead on the delivery of clinical, operational and people plans relating to strategic projects (for example the Major Trauma Centre and National isolation Unit) and similar responsibilities as programmes of work are assigned.DutiesThe Strategic Projects Implementation Lead will:

  • Plan and map programmes of work associated with strategic projects and co-ordinate work-streams.
  • Manage communications to key stakeholders
  • Proactively handle, supervise and report on the execution of deliverables and status in an effective manner across stakeholders
  • Develop standard work processes for projects including for example the completion of Risks, Actions, Issues, Decision (RAID) logs.
  • Lead cross programme project expectations, dependencies, assumptions, risks and issues.
  • Ensure appropriate counter measures are put in place to mitigate risks and issues identified.
  • Ensure issues and risks are escalated as appropriate though the MMUH strategic projects governance structure.
  • Ensure robust and accurate resource management and forecasting while tracking overall programme spend
  • Track programme benefits to ensure successful delivery of programme business cases where required
  • Co-ordinate and drive internal teams to ensure clinical, operational and people plans are delivered according to defined scope, dates and budget for projects.
  • Mobilise staff to engage in initiatives that support successful delivery of projects.
  • Foster positive relationships and build collaborations with relevant internal and external stakeholders and facilitate collaborative and effective working between stakeholders in order to ensure successful delivery of projects.
  • Partner with the Executive Lead for Strategic Projects and other members of the hospital executive to support appropriate governance, accountability and new ways of working where it is required.
  • Provide knowledge, experience and insights of international healthcare in order to support executive decision making and a solution focused approach to issues.
  • Ensure the training and development needs of staff are met as they pertain to strategic project implementation.
  • Develop, roll out and maintain a communications strategy to support this function including:
  • Contributing to Mater Strategic Projects monthly hospital executive; hospital board reports and CEO Newsletter and/or other communications as required.
  • Maintenance of web and social media
