As a large employer, PGW recognises the need to provide leadership and industry leading performance in health, safety, and wellbeing.We’re looking for a pragmatic, engaging, and influential Health, Safety and Wellbeing professional to join our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partnering team. We’re well on a journey with a revised strategy and solid progress underway to lift and shift the health, safety and wellbeing performance and mindset of our industry. You’ll be joining a supportive, energising and dedicated team of high performing safety professionals working to build trust, coach and support the business to deliver our HSW programme.Reporting to the Senior Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner, and working closely with our leaders and frontline team members, you’ll guide and coach our safety journey.Specifically, you will:
- Influence culture and drive change throughout the business with leadership coaching and development of ongoing improvement programmes.
- Have an understanding and belief in applying contemporary thinking and Safety II principals.
- Become known as a trusted and valuable advisor to the business.
- Provide advice and development in line with the group strategy and implementation plans.
- Model behaviours which drive a positive safety culture and help to foster new ways of thinking about health, safety, and wellbeing.
- Provide specialist training, support and challenge the status quo to drive continuous improvement, including incident investigations.
- Positively interact with our wider People and Safety team to continuously improve PGW’s management systems.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have diploma or degree level competency or industry recognition in a related field, or be willing to obtain one.
- Understand the importance of getting alongside our people, speaking their language, and appreciating how their work is done.
- Have leadership and/or business partnering experience, with a background in impacting positive cultural change (ideally within a large and complex business).
- Have experience within the agriculture, logistics industries, or a strong thirst and ability to learn quickly.
- Be experienced in reviewing events to understand root cause and deep learning with remaining true to HOP principles.
- Be an effective communicator – actively listening and translating complex situations into plain language.
- Demonstrate open-mindedness and commitment to lifelong learning.
- Be a team player – using your strengths to work collaboratively towards common goals, but also being self-motivated and results driven.
- Be able travel regularly and provide hands-on support across our nationwide sites.
