Make it your story.This position reports toLocal Product Group ManagerYour role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. The work model for the role is: onsite #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Power Protection product group based in Napier. In your role you will support the local stakeholders in understanding their obligations, liabilities, and requirements for role fulfillment, as per local HSE laws and group/business-specific requirements. This role also integrates with site maintenance responsibilities to ensure a safe, efficient, and sustainable working environment. This includes contributing to the Electrical Safety Team, managing and coordinating site maintenance activities (e.g., plumbing, electrical work, and security), and driving sustainability improvements. You will be mainly accountable for: •Reporting HSE incidents to the management and relevant stakeholders and taking appropriate actions. •Facilitating, assisting, and providing guidance on incident investigations to learn better ways for mitigating risks. •Providing feedback to the management and employees on lessons learned and best practices from within their own unit and across ABB. •Supporting and driving behavioral change through the local implementation of group-wide and business-specific performance improvement programs and practices.   • Proven industry experience in similar manufacturing or assembly environments.
  • Have sound understanding of NZ HSE legislation and its practical application.
  • Experience in site maintenance coordination or facility management.
  • You are passionate about creating safe, efficient, and sustainable work environments. You enjoy staying updated on external sustainability trends with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NZ Diploma in Workplace Health & Safety, NEBOSH) preferred.
  • You are at ease communicating in English and have strong engagement and influencing skills.
