Job description: Job Description:The Opportunity:An opportunity has become available for a Health and Safety Business Partner to join on a permanent full-time basis. We are open to considering someone based in Melbourne or Brisbane with an expectation to travel across our sites nationally.Join QIC Real Estate, where we oversee property related risks across a diverse portfolio of assets. The team is responsible for key areas including Operations, Marketing, Digital, Financial, Development Projects, Tenancy Fit Outs and Administration functions, ensuring Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) excellence across the board.As an integral part of the team, you will work closely with the Head of Real Estate Health and Safety to engage with our workforce, providing expert WHS guidance, training and support. In this multifaceted role, you will leverage your experience in safety, compliance, risk management and incident investigation to shape and embed the Real Estate WHS strategy. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the safe and successful delivery of construction and development projects, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on operational involvement.Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer expert advice to QIC stakeholders on the implementation of the QIC WHS Management System, including developing and reviewing operational plans, risk registers, procedures, guidelines, safety alerts, forms, tools, safe operating procedures and technical specifications.
  • Train QIC stakeholders in identifying WHS best practices and risks through mentoring, coaching, and upskilling via site walks, risk assessment workshops, and training activities.
  • Utilise QIC’s Risk Management system, Beakon and conduct 5-Why and ICAM investigations to monitor, track and report activities, including workplace inspections, incident management and investigations, audit findings closure, hazard and near-miss identification, data quality, and training.
  • Support, monitor and administer WHS practices across Real Estate.
  • Form strong relationships with key QIC stakeholders within the corporate division and Real Estate business to ensure alignment and collaboration on WHS initiatives.
  • Assist the Head of Real Estate Health and Safety in reviewing, planning, and coordinating WHS requirements and strategies for Real Estate.
  • Support project stakeholders with WHS initiatives by participating in safety in design reviews, reviewing contractor safety plans and safe work method statements.
  • Cultivate a positive safety culture by facilitating forums, promoting awareness, engagement and accountability across all levels of Real Estate.

About You:We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual with previous experience in a similar role to join our team. You will bring a solid understanding of Australian WHS legislation, codes, and standards, along with strong organisational and administrative skills. Your well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, will enable you to confidently deliver training programs and effectively engage with stakeholders.In addition to your technical expertise, your interpersonal and influencing skills will play a key role in building positive relationships and collaborating effectively within a team. You will have strong problem-solving abilities, allowing you to address challenges proactively.
