Job description: Position Title: Health & Safety Advisor – Policies and Procedures – State GovernmentLocation: Primarily based in South East with a hybrid work model, plus some travel to sites.Employment Type: Permanent, Full-timeJob Purpose:
The Health & Safety Advisor will assist the Health & Safety Leading implementing this State Governments safety strategy, aiming to foster a culture of safety accountability and continuous improvement.
This role is pivotal in engaging stakeholders, building a strong safety culture, and ensuring safety practices meet ISO45001 and ISO45003 standards.Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Health & Safety Lead in delivering strategic health and safety objectives and driving a culture of open safety communication.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to implement safety initiatives, projects, and contractor management systems.
• Maintain compliance with ISO45001 and ISO45003 standards and continuously improve the Safety Management System.
• Develop and refine health and safety policies, procedures, and documentation, coordinating closely with subject matter experts.
• Partner with the Health & Safety Training Lead to ensure employees and contractors receive necessary safety training and refreshers.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in OHS or a related discipline, with substantial experience in civil construction safety or similar high-risk environments.
• Experience with ISO45001 standards, safety audits, and procedure documentation.
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends, a proactive approach to safety improvements, and an ability to influence across all levels.
• Knowledge of high-risk industries is highly beneficial
