Job description: We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Systems and Solutions – Case Management to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of case management systems and solutions across the firm. The role will be instrumental in delivering a new platform, enhancing operational efficiencies, optimizing workflows and ensuring that the firm’s legal teams are equipped with cutting-edge technology to provide exceptional service to our insurance clients.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT systems management, low code platform Product Directorship and working in a legal or insurance-related environment. They will possess a keen understanding of both the technical and operational needs of the firm, and will be responsible for aligning technology solutions with the overall strategic goals of the organisation.Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
Lead the strategy, design and delivery of case management solutions, ensuring they align with the firm’s goals and the needs of insurance clients.
Oversee and manage the case management system team, providing guidance, training and performance reviews.
Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments (legal, operations, IT and Finance) to identify system and process improvements.
Maintain an in-depth understanding of the insurance and legal industries to recommend technology solutions that are innovative and forward-thinking.
Case Management Systems Development & Management:
Lead the build and optimization of case management systems (CMS), ensuring they are scalable, secure and meet the needs of the firm.
Ensure that case management platforms integrate effectively with other systems (document management, billing, etc.) and streamline workflows.
Oversee system upgrades, troubleshooting and resolve any technical issues impacting case management processes.
Manage third-party vendor relationships related to case management software and IT systems.
Process Improvement & Efficiency:
Drive continuous improvement in case management processes, utilizing technology to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and improve case outcomes for insurance clients.
Analyze data and performance metrics to identify trends and areas for system optimization.
Work closely with practice groups to identify and implement best practices in case handling, ensuring consistency and high standards across the firm.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure case management systems comply with industry regulations, privacy laws, and security standards relevant to insurance and legal industries.
Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities within systems and propose solutions to mitigate risks.
Training & Support:
Lead training initiatives for staff on how to effectively use case management systems and ensure ongoing professional development.
Provide support to end-users, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and efficiently, and that staff are comfortable with case management tools.
Budgeting & Resource Management:
Develop and manage the budget for case management systems, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to support operational needs.
Monitor the cost-effectiveness of technology investments and recommend improvements to maximize ROI.
Experience:
Proven experience in a senior role overseeing new system development and deployment across a large multinational organisation, specifically with insurance industry experience.
Strong knowledge of Insurance claims and case management across the industry, legal claims management processes, particularly in an insurance-focused environment.
Experience managing IT projects, including system integrations, rollouts, and upgrades.
Leadership experience, including managing cross-functional teams and driving change across an organization.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field. Advanced certifications or an MBA would be an advantage.
Skills:
Strong understanding of technology solutions and their application within legal practice and insurance industries.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards in both legal and insurance sectors.
Ability to build relationships and collaborate across various departments and external stakeholders.
