This role is based in the People & Culture Team, within the Operations Division at UNSW.Why your Role Matters
As the Head of Process Improvement (People & Culture), you will oversee and manage the delivery of key People & Culture process improvement projects at UNSW. Drive a significant project to document all critical People & Culture processes, and advance People & Culture’s process improvement agenda to balance process optimisation and HR operational excellence.This role leads P&C compliance initiatives using Business Process Management best practices to deliver process improvement outcomes that influence technology strategies, and transformation activities that drive automation, system enhancements, and the integration of HRIS and related platforms to improve user experience.Partnering with key stakeholders, you will monitor and communicate project progress, identify challenges, and provide effective process solutions. Reporting to the Director, Transformation (P&C) and managing 2 direct reports, you will work closely with other Transformation and P&C stakeholders to support the successful execution of process projects, ensuring seamless delivery against project timelines, objectives, and governance practices.Who You Are: With a track record of successfully leading projects, you’ll bring a practiced understanding of business process analysis, BPM governance, and continuous improvement in a large or complex organisation to achieve key business outcomes.
Skills and Experience required:

  • Professional experience and project lead roles in BPM or equivalent leadership experience in business analysis in large and complex organisations, ideally in higher education.
  • Extensive experience in establishing Business Analyst practices supporting the development of policies, methods, tools and templates commonly used and followed by Business Analysts in the delivery of their services.
  • High-level knowledge and competency in the use of professional business analysis techniques and methods (e.g. Use Case Analysis, UML).
  • Exceptional skills in the use of standard office toolsets including word processors, spreadsheets, drawing/diagramming tools (e.g. Visio), presentation tools (e.g. PowerPoint) and project management tools (e.g. MS Project).
  • Extensive experience with technology implementation across CRM, ERP and device management systems.
  • Proven track record of working within appropriate project management methodologies utilising the best of Waterfall and Agile methods.
  • Demonstrated commitment to success in providing effective solutions to business needs.
  • Proven ability to show initiative with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative and multifaceted team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Advanced consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse range of stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Excellent time management skills, with an ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines.
