Treasury play an integral role in ensuring risks are managed within the bank’s appetite and keep pace with the changing regulatory environment and risk management landscape.Te Tūranga | The role:Head of Portfolio Management

  • Reporting into the GM Treasury this role will see you lead a team that is responsible for hedging the asset and liability management position for our balance sheet.
  • The role requires due consideration of emerging geopolitical and market risks, the broader macroeconomic and interest rate environment, extensive interaction with local and global market participants to develop strategies that manage risk and add value.
  • You will also lead and develop our long-term investing liquid asset and portfolio strategies to ensure appropriate and considered returns, keeping across market intelligence and key related topics.
  • Frequent management of internal and external stakeholders means you should have the presence and influence skills to communicate effectively whilst navigating complex environments.

Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? | What do I need to be successful?Success in this role will be evidenced by achievement of targets across all responsible portfolios, leading and developing high performing teams, promoting continuous improvement and fostering an environment of learning and development, whilst being fluent in risk management and appetite limits.We therefore seek candidates with illustrated success in managing interest rate risk and portfolio management (ideally within financial markets and treasury) with a depth of knowledge across credit markets and ability to interpret macroeconomic environments.The ideal candidate will have presence and influence with stakeholders (across all levels) with capability to manage time critical activities.
