Job description: Our client, a well-established medium-sized company in the consumer sector, is looking for an experienced and strategic Head of General Ledger to join their finance team in the Canton of Lucerne. This role is crucial in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting while driving continuous improvements in accounting processes.Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the General Ledger function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with Swiss accounting standards.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process in accordance with OR
  • Manage and optimize internal controls, ensuring adherence to regulatory and company policies.
  • Coordinate external and internal audits, acting as the primary point of contact.
  • Support tax compliance, including VAT filings and corporate tax requirements.
  • Drive improvements in financial systems, automation, and reporting processes.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to senior management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the General Ledger team to enhance operational efficiency.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Swiss GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
  • Experience in a consumer-focused industry is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in German and English; French is a plus.
