We are currently recruiting for the role of Head of FP&A for our Retail business.The Retail Head of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the financial strategy, planning, and analysis for the retail division. This position demands a dynamic individual who can lead a team, provide strategic financial insights, foster transformation, and support the overall business objectives through meticulous financial planning and analysis.This role will involve a combination of onsite and remote work and will report to the Director of Finance, Retail and Wholesale.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Lead and develop the FP&A team through effective performance management techniques to enable achievement of business and personal objectives. As Head of FP&A the role holder can deputise for the Finance Director if required, with the gravitas to operate at Executive and Board level.Team of +26 including FP&A, MRS & Product Brands teams.Provide financial guidance, analysis, and support to the MRPI Management team – acting a trusted advisor to the management team.Influence the strategic agenda for the business by providing value add insight and analysis.Manage and lead the FP&A, MRS, Product brands teams to ensure that they are highly engaged and have the skill sets, resources and support needed to deliver in their role and achieve their objectives.Ensure the FP&A team operate in an agile manner to meet the changing needs of the business.Member of the Retail Senior Finance leadership team with responsibility for management of talent planning, people development and succession planning for the Finance team. Identify, mentor and coach Finance leaders of the future.Ensure the finance teams leverage technological advancement to deliver efficiencies and enhanced accuracy.Ownership of the financial strategic Planning outputs, annual budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring accurate and timely delivery. This will cover all aspects of Sales, Margin and Cost, whilst performing an oversight role with Department Directors reviewing their financial performance and budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.Manage and optimise costs within the Retail division to enhance profitability.Attend Retailer conferences, council, and cluster meetings, as appropriate, to obtain feedback and address retailer concerns directly.Ensure the FP&A team have appropriate financial models to support decision-making regarding forecasting, scenario analysis, and strategic initiatives.Partner with the Data & Insights team to leverage data for strategic decision-making and transformation initiatives.Possesses a detailed knowledge of the Markets our Brands operate in and provides key insight on movements within those markets to assist with decision making.Work closely with I&I Team to ensure a robust view of market performance at all times.Produce regular financial reporting (combined with analytical insight) to give an overview of business and financial performance. Highlight emerging trends, key actions, and strategic implications.Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to help ensure the Finance Function is well informed and has a strong voice in the organisation.Working closely with the Retail Management Teams to ensure our performance and plans are aligned to the 2030 strategy.Work with Group Finance (Financial Control) and internal audit to test specific controls and implement the resulting agreed action plans.A mindset focused on continuous learning to maintain knowledge of industry trends, new technologies, and evolving best practices to constantly seek out opportunities for improvement.Respond to ad-hoc data requests from various departments and provide timely, accurate, and insightful information.The successful candidates will demonstrate the following:Professional Accountancy Qualification – ACA, CIMA, ACCA, etc.Third level qualification specialising in Business/ Finance desirable5-7 years in a senior Financial Leadership role.Ability to think strategically and provide insights that support long-term business objectives.Experience in business wide strategic planning processes.Proven transformational and continuous improvement capability.Highly data rational with excellent technical and analytical skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Must possess strong commercial acumen, be results focused, solutions oriented and a pragmatic problem solver.Comfortable working in a dynamic, customer-oriented environment with a strong operational focus.Competency in PC packages (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook) and financial modelling.Solid understanding of financial principles, including financial modelling (Anaplan) and forecasting.Experience in data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.Excellent communication and presentation abilities.Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to develop strong relationships with all levels of management and staffMusgrave is an equal opportunities employer.
