Job description: THE POSITIONThe Head of Finance and Administration guides the country’s overall performance for the Regional Operating Unit (ROPU) Executive Committee (ExCom). This role coordinates and drives the execution and governance of the Operating Unit (OPU) Finance & Administration function, acting as a communication gateway between Corporate F&C and OPU. It involves managing financial resources to ensure sustainable and profitable growth, supporting strategy implementation, and safeguarding the company’s financial interests with local authorities, industry associations, and related enterprises.Key responsibilities include overseeing the Finance and Administration functions for both Human Pharma and Animal Health Business Units, achieving short and long-term financial and operational targets, and ensuring alignment with ASKAN strategy and compliance regulations. The role also involves leading, managing, and developing the OPU Finance and Administration team, and representing Boehringer Ingelheim legal entities alongside the General Manager.Task and Responsibilities

  • Align financial planning and budgeting with Corporate procedures, taking full financial P&L responsibility
  • Ensure adherence to accounting rules, laws, and BI procedures, maintaining integrity of financial statements
  • Support decision-making and lead Internal Control activities, ensuring fiscal compliance
  • Consolidate controlling activities, support business heads, and report issues with proposed countermeasures
  • Facilitate financial planning, develop five-year business plans, and assess risks to minimize impact
  • Optimize costs, support audits, and supervise fiscal year-end procedures
  • Perform risk map approval, monitor local KPIs, and challenge financial situations
  • Consolidate and report OPU information to management, review financial KPIs, and manage cash forecasting
  • Approve credit limits, perform order block release, and report on country performance
  • Oversee operational purchasing, tactical sourcing, and manage purchasing data for cost-saving analysis
  • Oversee demand planning, inventory management, logistics, and ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Implement IT plans and projects, supporting decision-making and collaborating with business heads
  • Build and develop the Finance & Administration team, ensuring performance and talent management
  • Ensure compliance with management timelines, development plans, and provide coaching
  • Ensure adequate staffing, talent movement, and represent Boehringer Ingelheim with the General Manager

About our future employee

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Economics; Master’s degree/MBA is preferred
  • At least 10 years of finance and admin experience and 5 years of experience in leadership capacity
  • Experience in Life Sciences, Pharma or FMCG industries is preferred
  • Ability to quickly understand complex topics and to extract and focus on critical key areas
  • Good understanding of the businesses and ability to connect to business leaders
  • Flexibility and ability to work under changing and ambiguous conditions, requiring continuous re-prioritization of work activities
  • Strong analytical, holistic conceptual thinking skills, combined with a hands-on mentality
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to prepare topics and to explain them in a way understandable to non-experts
  • Team Player, Adaptability, Customer Orientation, ability to integrate different personalities (Team Builder)
  • Strong knowledge of Corporate and local framework with regards to rules, policies and processes
