Job description: Grafton Banks Finance is working with a successful international group to recruit a Head of Finance for one of its businesses.Reporting to the MD this role will lead the finance function for this manufacturing business.We are looking for a qualified accountant and experienced Financial Controller/ Head of Finance who has a background working in SME businesses. Applicants will ideally have manufacturing industry experience or experience of managing inventory and cost accounting from a similar industry.This role is hands on and requires someone who is comfortable working in the detail.The role is full time office based; this isn’t negotiable. Salary range is £75,000 – 85,000 + benefits including 10-15% bonus and private healthcare.Key tasks:

• Supporting the Managing Directors with regard to all business management issues, optimisation opportunities and deriving recommendations for action and process optimisations.
• Commercial advice to the senior management team on financial and investment decisions. Ensuring that capital and non-capital investments are robustly appraised and are consistent with the business plan.
• Weekly finance reports on sales, orders, working capital, 6 weeks cashflow and sales forecasts.
• Monthly management accounts including profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow, capex, and working capital with commentary on trends and variances to budget and prior years.
• Monthly reporting pack for presentation to group management.
• Preparation of the annual budgets and financial 5-year plans.
• To attend and present financial information at board meetings and to lead discussions on the financial performance of the Companies and individual departments.
• Providing financial input on pricing strategies and product costings with the commercial teams.
• Exercising cost control across all aspects of the business.
• Cash flow management and liquidity planning and control.
• Ensuring high standards for inventory control and management.
• In conjunction with external advisers, mange the preparation of Corporation tax and R&D tax credit returns.

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills who is at ease working with the Senior Management Team and who is experienced managing small teams. Experience of improving or implementing ERP systems is an advantage.

Expected salary: £75000 – 85000 per year
