Job description: About the Role:We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our organization as the Head of External Communications. This senior role will oversee the company’s external communication efforts and lead a team dedicated to building and protecting the organization’s reputation. With a focus on media relations, content strategy, social media, and corporate communication, this role is integral to ensuring that the company’s key messages are communicated clearly and consistently to both internal and external stakeholders. You will also play a critical role in shaping the organization’s brand, managing its corporate narrative, and leading crisis communication efforts.
Responsibilities:1. External Communications:
o Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to promote the company’s objectives across various media channels.
o Lead integrated PR initiatives that communicate key company messages and business priorities to external stakeholders.
o Create compelling content, including press releases, reports, speeches, and digital media, to support the company’s corporate narrative.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with media representatives, influencers, and key stakeholders.
o Ensure timely and consistent delivery of external communication materials, maintaining high editorial and professional standards.2. Social Media Strategy:
o Lead the development and execution of a long-term social media and digital marketing strategy that aligns with company goals.
o Cultivate a positive online presence and engage with key external audiences to strengthen brand perception.
o Manage social media content strategies to drive customer and stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment with the company’s narrative.
o Oversee community management across social channels, including monitoring social sentiment and responding to feedback.
o Optimize digital marketing efforts through targeted content, SEO, and analytics.3. Stakeholder and Government Relations:
o Manage relationships with internal teams, government agencies, and external partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
o Support government relations efforts to ensure regulatory compliance and positive partnerships.
o Serve as a key point of contact between the organization and stakeholders to ensure clear and consistent messaging.4. Crisis Management:
o Lead the development and execution of crisis communication plans to safeguard the company’s reputation during crises.
o Work closely with the crisis management team to ensure timely and accurate external communication.5. Corporate Reputation and Narrative:
o Champion the company’s reputation and brand identity through strategic communication initiatives.
o Ensure consistency of messaging across all external channels and touchpoints.6. Leadership and Team Development:
o Manage and develop a team of communications professionals, fostering growth and skill development.
o Ensure the team is equipped to meet the organization’s communication objectives.7. Global Best Practices:
o Implement best practices in external communications and stay up to date with industry trends.
o Continuously evaluate communication strategies to improve effectiveness and impact.Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • At least 15 years of experience in external communications, with a focus on social media and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale communication strategies and leading diverse teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
  • Expertise in digital marketing and social media platforms, with a track record of managing content strategies.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and effectively manage crisis communication.
  • Prior experience in a corporate or high-growth environment is a plus.
