This critical role will lead tax reporting efforts, ensure compliance across jurisdictions, and support strategic tax initiatives. You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and drive continuous improvements to global tax processes.Your new roleIn this role you will:Manage accurate and timely group tax reporting, ensuring compliance with AIFRS standards.Develop tax forecasts and provide data-driven insights to support strategic decisions.Streamline and support divisional tax processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance.Partner with the international tax team on Pillar 2, tax transparency, and global tax compliance.Collaborate with finance, treasury, and other stakeholders to integrate tax considerations into broader financial strategies.Work effectively with an offshore team to achieve reporting and compliance objectives.Oversee and maintain the global Tax Reporting Platform, identifying opportunities for improvement.Stay updated on global tax trends and provide guidance on emerging legislation and compliance.Lead the preparation of Pillar 2 and tax transparency reports in line with regulatory requirements.Drive continuous improvements in tax processes, leveraging technology and best practices.About youSignificant professional experience in the insurance industry, with a solid understanding of industry-specific accounting and reporting standards.Proven track record in financial reporting and accounting, with a deep understanding of financial processes and controls in a complex organisation.Demonstrated experience in managing group consolidation processes for large multinational entities, including hands-on proficiency with Oracle HFM or similar consolidation systems.Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across finance disciplines, including treasury, tax, and financial planning, to deliver comprehensive and accurate reporting.Hands-on experience with tax provisioning processes, ideally using Hyperion Tax Provisioning or equivalent systems.Strong working knowledge of IFRS standards, including IFRS 17, and ability to apply these standards in tax and financial reporting contexts.Experience in improving processes and implementing system enhancements within tax reporting or finance functions.Experience mentoring or developing junior staff within finance teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and upskilling.About QBEWe can never really predict what’s around the corner, but at QBE we’re asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future – helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
