Converter Control ApplicationOur Converter Control Application team is essential in securing Vestas’ position as a global leader in sustainable energy. We develop and implement converter control functionalities across all Vestas turbine families. We’re a collaborative, diverse, and highly skilled team, balancing creativity with technical excellence to develop leading converter solutions.Responsibilities

  • Guide and oversee the development and implementation of Grid-Forming (GFM) Control Technology
  • Define converter requirements and oversee control software development, testing, and validation
  • Contribute to the improvement and updates of existing converter control software based on real-world turbine feedback and customer requirements
  • Be responsible for technical tasks and solutions in cross-functional projects
  • Collaborate with internal teams to promote innovation and continuous improvement in converter control

Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field coupled with 8+ years of experience in power converter development, control design, and implementation
  • Deep understanding of Grid-Forming Control and power converter control strategies
  • Solid knowledge of dynamic system modelling, controller design, and verification through simulations and tests
  • Practical experience with control of power electronics, PWM strategies, and industrial software development
  • Familiarity with grid connection of converters and compliance with international grid codes
  • Embedded control development for power electronics
