Job description: About the DepartmentOur client, a Federal Agency works to enhance our agricultural, fisheries and forestry industries. They create new and maintain existing agricultural export opportunities, to provide gains for Australian agriculture. They manage biosecurity risks to Australia to protect our multi-billion dollar agricultural industries and our way of life.About the RoleThe Operations Coordination Section (OCS) triages, assesses, and responds to non-compliance reported to the Division by applying a consistent risk assessment model. The Section is also responsible for coordination of operational action across the Division, all Divisional operational reporting, secretariat of the Operations Coordination Committee, processing requests for information and maintaining the Department’s Redline reporting capability.Key Duties

  • Review of instructional and policy material for the Operational Intelligence and Coordination branch.
  • Assisting the APS 6 Senior Governance and Reporting Officer in documenting OICB business processes and translating them to visuals that will assist in workshops and other stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Producing reporting around CED’s operational compliance and enforcement activities using reporting templates set up in Power BI.
  • Assisting with extractions from the divisions’ Non-Compliance Reporting Systems as per Request parameters.
  • Contributing new ideas and potential changes to processes, including opportunities to improve the efficiency of business processes.
  • Building and maintaining strong and effective relationships with team members and a range of stakeholders.
  • Undertaking regular performance reviews, seeking feedback on behaviour and work performance and seeking opportunities to extend skills and knowledge, including management, leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Undertaking procedural, clerical, administrative support or operational tasks when required.

  • Sound organisational, research and writing skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt in a highly dynamic work environment.
  • Experience using modern data visualisation tools to communicate information.
  • Ability to collaborate and consult with a range of stakeholders on complex and sensitive issues.
