Job description: Cricket Victoria (CV) is seeking a commercially minded General Manager to lead the Melbourne Stars. Responsible for bringing the Melbourne Stars brand to life, you will lead the strategic direction and day to day operations of the team.As the General Manager Melbourne Stars, you’ll be immersed in a fast-paced environment. You will have the opportunity to combine your strategic thinking, commercial mindset, creativity and leadership to lead the W/BBL competition in terms of viewership, attendance, membership and commercial support.As part of the CV Executive Team, you will:

• Provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for the Melbourne Stars off-field team to drive success in all off field priorities, including membership sales and profitability, Ticket sales and yield, sponsorship, brand equity and fan engagement.
• Build strong collaborative alliances across the business to deliver strategic priorities.
• Partner with Head of Consumer Business to develop annual W/BBL Business Plans that are aligned to long-term strategies and deliver targeted outcomes.
• Liaise with the GM High Performance and High Performance Cricket Committee to support the delivery of High Performance goals with the Melbourne Stars environment.
• Manage key stakeholders including broadcasters, venue owners and commercial partners to ensure alignment of strategic direction and core objectives.
• Work as part of the Australian Cricket Big Bash League working group to advocate for Melbourne Stars and CV priorities while supporting the growth of the W/BBL.
• Ensure clear systems, processes and personnel are in place to operate within the parameters of the Rules, Regulations and Guidelines of the W/BBL Leagues.
• Lead the budgeting and financial management of the Melbourne Stars off-field functions to achieve commercial budgets.

• A strategic thinker that can articulate and deliver on new ways to achieve organisational targets.
• Excellent leadership skills, with an ability to lead and inspire people from across a variety of team to work for towards a collective goal.
• Demonstrated commercial leadership experience in a similar role.
• Extensive experience in sales, marketing and brand management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage P&L and drive profitability.
• Ability to adapt to change and drive innovation.
• A network of strategic relationships at all levels of business.
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) or an ability to obtain.
• A current Motor Vehicle Licence.
