Job description: OVERVIEWWorking as a full-time General Ledger Accountant, you will enjoy the opportunity of leading and performing a variety of accounting duties for Fastenal’s European locations.RESPONSIBILITIESThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing and analyzing financial reporting for various European locations
• Managing statutory audits and compliance reporting activities
• Performing and monitoring general ledger reconciliations
• Managing and processing monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities of the general ledger
• Coordinating and participating in development projects – planning, testing, and implementation
• Developing and training others to achieve goals and to optimize business results
• Performing special projects and analysis as required
• Other administrative tasks as necessary

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONThe skills and qualifications for this position include:

• Possess a degree in Accounting and have at least two years of relevant work experience
• Proficient using Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (B2)
• Exhibit strong problem solving and decision making skills
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities
• Possess strong attention to detail
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented
• Ability to work in a high volume fast-paced environment, both independently and as a team
