Job description: Job PurposeAs a General Ledger (GL) Accountant, you will be supporting accurate and timely bookkeeping activities for the company. As part of the overall RWS business strategy we are making a significant investment in upgrading our financial systems and processes to deliver enhanced reporting and control, more efficient processing enabling great value through enhanced business partnering and decision support.Job OverviewKey Responsibilities

• Perform GL accounting activities, including complex tasks
• Process transactions, reconcile account balances, calculate accruals and adjustments
• Ensure an accurate and timely period-end close by ensuring all transactions are recorded, journal entries are posted, accounts are reconciled where needed and consolidated at required level
• Analyze accounting records to produce accurate financial reports
• Perform periodic reviews of GL and accounts with GL accounting team to ensure compliance and adherence to internal financial controls
• Support with queries from regulatory authorities and external auditors
• Work with and support the GL accounting team in day-to-day activities and provide guidance and support to more junior members of the team
• Support continuous improvement of the GL accounting processes in the SSC
• Ensure GL accounting team compliance
• Cooperate with other teams – mainly P2P, O2C and Master Data
• Take active part in the planned ERP system change

Skills & Experience

• Ideally 2+ years’ experience in GL accounting operations
• Strong English language skills
• Strong MS Excel skills with a proven aptitude to interpret financial data
• Strong knowledge of finance business processes, accounting policies, and statutory accounting principles to ensure compliant SSC operations
• Working knowledge of core finance systems, ERP and related specialty functional systems, frameworks, and functionality
• Proactive approach
