We have an exciting opportunity for you to become a Forecasting & Planning Business Partner in Workforce Planning and Optimisation based in Derby.As a Forecasting & Planning Business Partner, you’ll collaborate with Field Operations to ensure we have the right resources to deliver top-notch service. You’ll analyze resource needs, provide performance insights, and create robust plans highlighting risks and opportunities. Your recommendations will optimize resource and demand, both short and long-term.Key accountabilities in this role include:

  • Continuously enhance the demand forecasting and capacity planning process.
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders on all resource planning matters, partnering with ops teams and business leads.
  • Review performance vs. plan, identify risks and opportunities, and balance resources proactively.
  • Produce rolling 1-month to 3-year plans, communicate assumptions, and ensure accurate forecasts.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to mitigate risks.
  • Source and manage data for planning processes.
  • Create tactical plans (28 days to 1 week out) with demand forecasting, capacity analysis, and performance insights.
  • Govern and administer Workforce Management Tools.
  • Design optimal schedules.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLEFirst and foremost, we expect you to have extensive experience in resource planning, particularly in forecasting and capacity planning, ideally within a field operations environment.Proven experience in influencing senior stakeholders to drive operational improvements is a must.We are looking for someone with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency in MS Access, SQL, and VBA, along with an understanding of data visualization tools like PowerBI, is highly desirable. Additionally, hands-on experience with forecasting tools such as SAS, R, and Python will set you apart.The right skills and experience are important.
