This pivotal role is designed to establish, grow, and nurture our critical relationships with First Nations communities across Australia, in alignment with our purpose and First Nations Strategy.You will provide invaluable guidance to ANZ’s leaders and divisions, ensuring that our operations are culturally informed and respectful. Your role will be instrumental in delivering the objectives of our First Nations Strategy by actively listening to First Nations voices and aligning our actions to meet shared priorities. You will also play a key role in driving organisational change where these priorities are not being met.Serving as the central point for First Nations engagement within ANZ, you will demonstrate exceptional leadership and cultural capability. In locations where this does not apply, Aboriginal and Torres-Strait Islander candidates are encouraged to apply.”What will your day look like?As a First Nations Stakeholder Engagement Lead, you willDevelop and manage ANZ’s enterprise First Nations Stakeholder engagement plan, in support of the Australian First Nations Strategy and other ANZ prioritiesEstablish, maintain and strengthen relationships with high-priority First Nations organisations, communities and Traditional Owners nationallyWork collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver mutual value and outcomes, aligned to ANZ’s First Nations StrategyFacilitate effective two-way communication (including listening, and learning) with key stakeholders, including organising relevant meetings, workshops and eventsRepresent ANZ at external forums with community groups and First Nations organisationsServe as a subject-matter expert and focal point for First Nations engagement within ANZ, and provide expert advice to internal teams regarding cultural engagements and protocolsManage and report on First Nations engagement activities and outcomes.What will you bring?To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:Experience in building stakeholder engagement plans that utilise feedback to influence organisational change.Experience in building positive and trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, especially with First Nations communities and organisations.Outstanding cultural awareness and capability, including strong knowledge of Australian First Nations histories, cultures and communitiesPassion for improving First Nations financial wellbeing and self-determination.Strong sense of accountability, and track record of following through on commitments within set timeframes and to agreed standardsStrong communication skills including interpersonal, writing and presentation; ability to adapt communication styles to suit a wide range of stakeholdersDeep listening, negotiation, problem-solving and facilitation skills, while having a curious and/or growth mindsetYou’re not expected to have 100% of these skills.
