Main responsibilities include:

  • Manage a team of Financial Accountants responsible for regulatory and financial reporting deliverables.
  • Oversee client relationships and act as the key escalation point for queries and technical issues.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting in line with SLAs, APRA standards, and internal risk controls.
  • Lead initiatives to improve process efficiency, automation, and risk mitigation.
  • Support transitions and new client onboarding, ensuring compliance and readiness.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to team members.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across operations, risk, and product teams.
  • Represent the team in industry forums and internal change initiatives.

The ideal candidate:

  • 6–8 years’ experience in financial reporting or regulatory services within financial services ideally.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management experience is a must.
  • Background in fund services, superannuation, custodianship, or Big 4 firms highly regarded.
  • Deep understanding of APRA and Australian accounting/reporting standards.
  • Strong knowledge of unit trusts and their tax implications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Qualified accountant (CA/CPA) with a degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
