Job description: Job summary:To manage the organisation’s operational (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX) budgeting and forecasting processes. Ensure financial stability and strategic planning through accurate budget preparation, financial forecasting, and insightful analysis.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and prepare annual budgets for the organisation, aligning financial resources with strategic objectives and operational plansCollaborate with department heads to gather budget inputs, set financial targets, and ensure alignment with strategic objectivesDevelop and implement budget templates and guidelines to streamline the budgeting processConduct regular financial forecasting and analysis for Opex and Capex to provide insights into the organisation’s financial performanceMonitor actual performance against forecasts and budgets, identifying variances and providing actionable insightsUpdate forecasts based on changing business conditions, new information, or strategic shiftsMonitor Opex and Capex budget performance against targets and provide regular reports to senior managementIdentify and address budget variances, ensuring effective cost control measures are in place for both operational and capital expensesConduct budget revisions and adjustments, accommodating changes in business conditions, strategic priorities, or unforeseen expensesProvide recommendations on the allocation of the budget between capital expenditures (CAPEX) and operational expenditures (OPEX)Provide recommendations on budgetary control and financial decision-making based on operational analysis and economic trendsCollaborate with other teams to gather and analyse financial data for budgeting purposesEnsure compliance with budgeting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Policy, Procedures, Process and Systems:Follow the operational strategy in compliance with group delegation of authority policyEnsure the compliance of organisation’s policy, systems, processes, procedures, and controls in line with group delegation of authority policy so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner
Reporting:Ensure that all reports are completed timely and comply with the business and organisation’s policies and standardsManage the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the business senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making
