Our Digital Clinical Strategy lays the foundation for this transformation, centring on the principle of using technology and data to enhance safety, quality, and clinical and corporate effectiveness.The development of interoperable systems across and outside the organisation will allow the employment of advanced analytics, machine learning, intelligent automation and risk stratification to inform needs led healthcare planning and decision making.The Finance Department recognises it has a key role in helping to deliver this strategy and to support improvements to patient care, through supporting data-driven excellence to optimise investments, streamline processes and help drive continuous improvement through evidence based strategic and operational decisions.Finance have developed a departmental data strategy to help deliver the necessary changes for data governance as we move towards data interoperability and convergence with the Trust strategy. As a result, we are investing in a brand new Data Management and Governance Lead role to define, establish and implement structured data management and governance processes in the department.Main duties of the job
- As someone with a passion for data, the post-holder will be responsible for defining, establishing and implementing structured data management and governance processes in the department to support intelligence led decision making.
- The post holder will drive data management and governance processes to improve awareness across the department, including communicating the impact of good data governance throughout the department, through the development and implementation of procedures and education.
- To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

- Experience of reviewing regulatory documentation and interpreting requirements to a local level so that they are relevant and comprehensible
Desirable
- Specialist knowledge of NHS data – including Information Standards Notices & the NHS Data Model and Dictionary
- Working knowledge of DAMA International framework for data management
