Job description: The Staff Pad has partnered with Blue Ridge Medical Center in Blue Ridge, Georgia to find a skilled and compassionate Financial Counselor to join their Patient Access team.In this role, the Financial Counselor will play a key part in supporting patients through the financial aspects of their care. This includes meeting with self-pay patients, reviewing Charity Care and Sliding Fee applications, setting up payment plans, and working directly with insurance companies, billing vendors, and collection agencies. The ideal candidate is empathetic, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital setting.​Key Responsibilities:Initiate contact with self-pay patients to discuss financial options and payment plansPerform financial analysis on accounts for charity and sliding scale approvalsAssist patients in completing applications for financial assistanceVerify insurance for MVA and workers’ compensation casesVisit inpatients and ER patients to discuss billing optionsAnswer patient billing inquiries and coordinate with billing companiesMaintain strong communication with registration, scheduling, and external vendorsSupport collections efforts and maintain detailed call logsCross-train in Registration and Scheduling as neededQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 2 years’ experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferredPrior collections or financial counseling experience is strongly preferredStrong customer service and communication skillsAbility to work under pressure and manage sensitive situations with professionalismFamiliarity with ACA guidelines and Presumptive Eligibility certifications is a plusPandoLogic.
