Job description: Our client is a PE backed, financial services start up and new entrant to the Irish market. They are seeking a Financial Controller on a full time, permanent basis. Reporting to the CFO, the FC will be instrumental in supporting the financial operations and expansion of the European business. The FC will oversee financial processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency while collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead financial reporting, monthly close processes, and reconciliations.
• Manage payment processes, including payroll, vendor, and operational disbursements.
• Oversee statutory audits and regulatory financial requirements.
• Collaborate on tax and VAT return preparation with external partners.
• Develop and maintain financial controls, best practices, and process improvements.
• Monitor cash flow and ensure sound treasury operations.
• Stay updated on evolving regulatory and accounting standards.

Skills & Experience:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 5+ years in financial services or a regulated industry.
• Strong technical accounting, reporting, and financial analysis capabilities.
• Experience with general ledger management, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Familiarity with corporate tax, VAT regulations, and financial compliance.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across teams and influence decision-making.
