Job description: The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the bank’s financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, mitigating financial risks, and driving process improvements. This role plays a critical part in shaping financial strategy, optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing operational efficiency to support the bank’s sustainable growth and regulatory compliance.RequirementsFinancial Accounting & Reporting

  • Lead the month-end financial closing process, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of financial records with core digital banking systems.
  • Prepare financial analytics and related reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Digital Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and interpret financial statements and reports, with a focus on digital transactions.
  • Analyze digital banking financial data to identify trends, customer behavior, and product performance insights.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Oversee budgeting processes, incorporating digital banking-specific factors such as technological investments, cybersecurity costs, and digital marketing.
  • Develop financial forecasts, including customer acquisition cost projections and growth estimates.

Cash Flow Management

  • Monitor digital transaction volumes and manage real-time cash flow settlements.
  • Implement cash flow strategies to maintain liquidity for digital and physical banking operations.

Internal Controls & Risk Management

  • Develop and maintain internal controls for digital banking, ensuring fraud detection, data privacy, and cybersecurity risk mitigation.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements, such as AML and KYC procedures.
  • Identify financial risks specific to digital banking, including cybersecurity threats, fraud, and market volatility, and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting regulations, including the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and other governing bodies.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of regulatory reports to external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities for financial audits related to digital banking operations.

Tax Management

  • Manage tax compliance for digital banking transactions and services.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies for revenue streams generated through digital banking.

Digital Process Improvement

  • Evaluate and enhance digital financial processes, leveraging automation, fintech solutions, and AI tools.
  • Continuously improve financial reporting and analysis through digital transformation initiatives.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Present financial results, forecasts, and strategic financial insights to executive management, the board, and investors.
  • Act as a key financial advisor for digital banking operations.

Special Projects for Digital Banking

  • Lead or participate in strategic projects such as new digital product launches, fintech integrations, and blockchain explorations

Special Projects for Digital Banking

  • Participate in or lead special projects, such as the launch of new digital banking products, integration of fintech solutions, or exploration of blockchain technologies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA, ACCA, CPA, or CFA is preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in financial reporting,banking, digital banking finance, or fintech finance.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial analysis, planning and budgeting
