Job description: Job Category: Accounting/FinanceJob Description:Te Tūranga | About the Role:Are you a detail-driven accounting professional with a passion for delivering accurate, timely reporting? Join us as a Financial Accountant and play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of Silver Fern Farms’ financial reporting.Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is central to the delivery of our statutory and monthly financial reporting services. You’ll lead the financial close process, ensure the general ledger runs smoothly, and play a key part in budget, forecast, audit, and compliance processes. It’s a high-impact role that blends hands-on accounting with continuous improvement.This role will:

• Oversee the integrity and operation of the general ledger and financial close process
• Deliver accurate monthly and statutory financial reporting, including group consolidations
• Lead external and internal aduit programmes
• Manage reconciliations across subsidiary ledgers (debtors, creditors, inventory)
• Drive financial analysis, sundry reporting, and continuous process improvement

This role will be based from our Dunedin Hub.Ōu Pūkenga | About You:You are an experienced and driven finance professional who enjoys structure, clarity, and meaningful impact. You thrive in a team environment and bring a collaborative, detail-focused approach to everything you do.We’re looking for:

• A Chartered Accountant (or equivalent qualification)
• 3+ years’ experience in financial accounting, reporting, and analysis
• Sound knowledge of NZ IFRS and financial controls
• Strong Excel and reporting tool skills (BI tools a bonus)
• Confident communicator who can work cross-functionally and support internal teams
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting within a corporate setting
• Familiarity with ERP and finance systems (D365 F&O experience a bonus)
