My client is a privately held NZ business that has been operating since 1947. With a proud history, this business has scale with significant operations across Australia and NZ. The business employs in excess of 600 staff and is well regarded in their space. The business is customer focused with solutions that really benefit it’s end customers. The finance team is circa 20 people and an opportunity has arisen to join as the Financial Accountant for the one whole entity of the operation but working in a team environment.The Role
The role of Financial Accountant will report to the Financial Accounting Manager and be one of two Financial Accountants. You will be responsible for the following:

• Prepare the monthly & periodic reporting to the Board of Directors
• Maintain cashflow models and forecast cash positions
• Manage FX requirements for weekly payment runs, manage FX rates etc
• Perform calculations on commissions for manage accordingly
• Maintenance of the fixed asset register from additions, disposals, depreciation, and WIP
• Prepare compliance returns such as GST/FBT and other statistical returns
• Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements for all companies within the Group and have input into the audit process
• Support the administration teams in regards to invoices and expenses
• Provide back up and work as a team with the other Financial Accountant
• Other ad hoc duties as required.

Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role, we are looking for a CA qualified Accountant (or close to). Your prior experience will include working within a larger more complex business structure where you have the following attributes:

• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to use initiative and take ownership of this role
• A desire to learn & grow
• ERP system experience
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills
• Exposure to IFRS reporting and statutory reporting.
• Any exposure to manufacturing, contracting or construction industries a plus
