Job description: Financial AccountantCork CityA growing group finance function based in Cork City is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their team. This role is based in Cork City and offers a hybrid working model.This role will suit candidates who are newly qualified or recently qualified accountants and presents an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in month-end reporting within a collaborative environment.Reporting directly to the Group Finance Manager, you will be responsible for all reporting requirements for a number of entities within the group.Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the month-end close process for the designated entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate/resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis against budget and prior periods.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and supporting documentation.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
• Liaise with other departments to gather necessary financial information.
• Support the Group Finance Manager with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.

Requirements:

• Newly qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or 1-3 years post qualified experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software packages is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
