TAFE SA is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Support Officer to join our Finance and Performance Division. In this key role, you will collaborate with Finance Business Partners to deliver comprehensive management accounting support. Your contributions will help ensure robust financial processes, accurate reporting, and sound financial advice across TAFE SA business units.Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile technical inputs for regular financial reporting, including management reports and budget processes.
  • Provide financial advice and support to business units on reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Maintain financial systems and documentation to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Conduct financial research, basic modelling, and analysis of income, expenditure, and staffing profiles.
  • Coordinate accruals and provisioning activities to meet business requirements.
  • Monitor financial performance against key budget indicators and support strategy development.
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting templates, processes, and timetables.
  • Contribute to financial projects, initiatives, and investigations for continuous improvement.

To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:

  • Experience in a complex corporate or public sector management accounting environment.
  • Proficiency in executive financial management reporting, including budget variance analysis and compiling financial reports.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team under limited direction, analysing problems and delivering solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for multidisciplinary environments.
  • Knowledge of regulated financial practices and systems, including financial management tools.
  • Understanding of Aboriginal culture and community.
  • A degree or post-secondary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce is highly desirable.

  • Out of hours work will be required
  • Intra/interstate travel may be required.
  • Incumbent will be required to participate in the department’s Performance Development Program.
