As a part of our team, you can look forward to a dynamic work environment where you will actively engage with a diverse group of people from many backgrounds.Expected start date and duration of employment This is a permanent position starting on 1 August 2025 or as soon as possible.Job description The Finance Manager role is a newly established position at the CO2 Research Center (CORC). The Finance Manager will become a key member of the CORC Operations team, reporting directly to the COO. The role will not only lead the overall strategic finance activities for the COO but also support the CEO and the Operations team on all strategic and tactical financial matters.The CO2 Research Center is based with headquarters at Aarhus University (AU) and five University hubs within Denmark, Germany, and USA. The Finance Manager is therefore required to collaborate closely with the Finance Office at AU, where our financial controlling is operated, but also integrate financial planning and reporting processes across the University hubs. This is to ensure a seamless integration across our CORC operating model.The Finance Manager’s main tasks include:

• Implement and lead the CORC annual financial business processes and collaborate with the AU Finance team to ensure seamless integration.
• Develop financial analyses and investment plans to support strategy development and implementation across the scientific project portfolio.
• Co-driving reporting material and insight analyses for presentation to our board and stakeholders at Novo Nordisk Foundation. This includes transforming data and facts into clear messages to support the ongoing mission-based performance dialogues.
• Supporting development of mission-based performance management including introduction of internal and strategically focused research and innovation KPIs.
• Developing and implementing financial templates and support structures for investments, such as life-cycle assessments, instrument purchase forms, and scientific business cases ect.
• Supporting our research operations team with implementation and maintenance of a research project portfolio across all CORC activities. This responsibility includes ensuring monthly updates of financial data in the portfolio through close collaboration with our University finance partners and scientific leaders at AU and abroad.
• Providing financial guidance to our core scientific leaders (Principal Investigators/Professors) on CORC financial matters.
• Support and collaborate with the AU Finance controller and AU Finance team to ensure seamless financial collaboration with our research departments.
• Engage in a range of ad hoc assignments including for instance short-term forecasting, business impact analysis, development of excel templates for internal use, and more.

Your profile We are looking for a person who works well as lead specialist on financial management but who also enjoys engaging as an equal part in a diverse team. You share our passion for combatting climate change through new technologies and can support the team with your financial management expertise.Furthermore, the following background is required:

• You have a relevant master degree within Finance or Business Development or similar.
• You have at least 3-5 years of experience within finance management and strategic management support, including yearly budgeting processes from either R&D portfolios in industry or research-related institutions.
• Experience with developing financial tools and templates for management purposes, such as business case templates and performance management templates.
• Preferably experience with LCAs on sustainability initiatives and understanding of SBTi.
• Preferably experience with development of KPIs and performance management systems.
• Fluent in both Danish and English.

Who we are The Novo Nordisk Foundation CO2 Research Center (CORC) was established in 2022 and is a mission-oriented center based at Aarhus University. The center’s purpose is to develop novel science and early technologies for carbon capture and conversion.
