Job description: Story Behind the Need:
- Business group: CIDA Operations & Strategy: Supports Financial Operations for Customer Insight Data & Analytics. This is a critical function and has the responsibility for ensuring effective P&L management and optimization of business investments with Bank’s strategic priorities.
- The Manager has responsibility for the accurate, comprehensive and timely preparation and financial information of CID&A’s monthly and quarterly results, ensuring accurate, comprehensive and timely delivery of reporting and analysis from both statutory and business line perspective, for use in client executive and senior management reporting and decision-making. Contributes to the overall success of Global Finance – Reporting ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Project: Data Remediation:
- Oversees financial operations for business lines funds. Making sure all project managers are performing their financial activities, maintaining good communication and relationship with all stakeholders across the program. The resource will use Excel to work with a Resource management tracking tool.

Typical Day in the Role:
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and monthly reporting on assigned Customer Insight Data & Analytics and Project Team financial results:
o Coordinate and collect financial data from business units, transit owners, and/or Project OP owners.
o Perform reasonability review of statutory expense reporting.
o Review, analyze and prepare statutory journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
o Perform analysis of various variances between actuals for direct units and support groups to ensure accuracy and completeness and understandings of significant transactions.
o Develop product group subject matter expertise including direct unit allocations to external partners.
o Communicate with individuals in various business units during period close and on an ongoing basis.
o Respond to queries from senior management and participate in the investigation and resolution of reporting issues.
- Support different transit owners and/or OP owners for the Project Team on their financial reports
- Support Senior Manager in efforts to enhance financial reporting and analytical processes:
o Co-ordinate processes with other Manager Reporting.
o Assist with the annual business line rule set up and chart of account (COFA) management processes
o Identify issues and make recommendations with a focus on process improvement
- Act as a prime liaison with assigned stakeholders while building strategic relationships to provide support.
- Provides coaching and training to colleagues and business partners on processes:
o Champion a customer focused culture to deepen relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
o Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
o Actively pursue effective and efficient operations, while ensuring the adequacy and adherence to controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Guidelines for Business Conduct.Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
- 8-10 of financial accounting and generally accepted accounting principles with good understanding of elements of effective control over the integrity and completeness of financial reporting.
- 5-8 years of experience with computer applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OBI/Smartview and any other financial tools.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Completion or enrollment in an accounting program is preferred (i.e. CPA, MBA)
- Knowledgeable of the Bank’s products, operations and procedures is preferred
- Financial experience working with project management teams

Best VS. Average Candidate:
- The ideal candidate is someone with financial experience working with project management teams. Someone who has worked for any financial institution or supported a data analytics department.
- The ideal candidate will have Excel experience, including skills in Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, report filtering and data manipulation.
Education & Certificates:
- Post-secondary degree in Finance or Accounting
