Job description: Like any organisation, it’s the people that make an impactThe City of Cockburn is seeking passionate individuals to join our team to support the financial management and strategic planning of the City by providing effective partnering support services and financial advice to various departments.About the PositionsAs a Finance Business Partner in the Accounting and Budgeting Service Unit, you’ll play a pivotal role, and your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with various departments to provide financial insights and support for business planning and financial performance.
  • Provide support and training to internal business areas on using and engaging financial systems and processes.
  • Prepare general ledger and labour costing journals ensuring their relevance and accuracy, and that they are duly authorised and have appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and review of annual budgets across various departments.
  • Providing support to the Accounting and Budgeting Service Unit in discharging financial management accountabilities (credit cards, accounts payable, assets).

About YOUYou’ll excel in this role, and we’d love to hear from you, if you have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification/s in the Financial / Accounting field.
  • High level of Customer Service & interpersonal skills.
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Practical experience in using and interrogating corporate accounting software packages.
  • Well-developed MS Excel and MS Word skills
