You will be instrumental in driving financial best practices, ensuring timely reporting, and supporting key business decisions with accurate financial data. This role requires a highly organised and efficient professional who can manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records using Xero, process invoices, manage debtors and creditors, and oversee payroll functions.
  • Ensure timely filing and payment of GST and PAYE returns, conduct bank reconciliations, and process payments.
  • Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, support audits, and contribute to annual accounts preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and audits while working collaboratively with different departments to maintain financial efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with staff, community organisations, and stakeholders, upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and promoting cultural inclusivity.
  • Play a vital role in an organisation committed to helping and supporting individuals and communities in need.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience (2 year minimum) in a finance administration role, with proficiency in Xero accounting software, payroll and a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management skills, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information with integrity and discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to generate insightful financial reports and identify process improvements.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles (desirable).
  • A highly organised and efficient approach to managing tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
