It’s one of the many reasons we’re proud to be an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality.We’re on the hunt for a Head of Lending and Transaction Management to join our Wholesale Banking department of ING Australia.This is a front office leadership role and as the Australian Head of Lending, you will functionally lead the Transaction Management (“TM”) team that executes new lending transactions and works closely with the client relationship managers and sector experts to originate new lending transactions. You will also be hierarchically responsible for the local Lending Portfolio Management (“PM”) team, the Corporate Sector Lending “CSL” team and the Reporting Monitoring Lending Analytics “RMLA” team. Your responsibility will be to attract, train and manage a team of junior through senior-level lending professionals. You will work closely with the Sector heads and the relationship managers to appropriately staff and optimize lending opportunities for our clients.Lending covers clients across all industry sectors that WB is active in and provides lending solutions across a spectrum of lending products.Ready to make an impact?What you’ll do

  • Lead a newly established team and build a culture of excellence and engagement making lending an inspiring place to work
  • Lead the relevant Lending teams involvement with every new lending transaction and take primary responsibility for some of the key processes including review and analysis of financial statements, market reports and transactions as well as in depth credit analysis
  • Lead the relevant Lending teams in supporting Sector origination colleagues in pre and post credit approval execution, including Stakeholder management
  • Lead the relevant Lending teams in working closely with the client relationship managers and/or deal principals on origination and deal structuring activities
  • Build a culture of operational excellence for the Lending teams

What we’re looking for

  • 10+ years of managing people in relevant deal-making, credit analysis and transaction execution in the banking industry
  • University degree major in business/economics, law or relevant business discipline. CFA and/or MBA a plus
  • Expertise in corporate loans or project finance loan origination and execution
  • Excellent credit skills and deep understanding of debt capital markets
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements and governance
  • Proven ability with a leadership role in a dynamic environment, capable of steering, building and developing high performing teams that excel in collaboration across functions and geographies
  • Highly collaborative and able to work effectively across functions and regions
