Job description: About the TeamThe Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Leadership and Engagement) (PVC (ILE)) is the site of cross-University leadership in relation to UTS Indigenous education, employment and external engagement. The PVC (ILE) is a key member of the University’s senior leadership team and is also the Executive Director for the Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research.
Detailed DescriptionAbout the roleThe Executive Officer is responsible for providing high-level executive support, project management, reporting, and select governance support to the PVC (ILE) across a wide range of portfolio areas. The position is expected to advise the PVC (ILE) and Director, Strategy and Operations about critical and emerging issues, new initiatives and policy/regulatory matters, make recommendations and lead the implementation of plans to address such issues.The position also assists with operational and administrative management of the Office of the PVC (ILE), including supervising the PVC (ILE)’s executive assistant.About youYou are a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong record of achievement in providing executive support, strategic project management, and governance ideally within the university sector. Your tact, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills mean you excel at building relationships and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.Your excellent oral and written communication skills enable you to draft complex correspondence, reports, and other documents with precision and clarity. You have strong strategic planning skills and a capacity for systematic and analytical thinking. You have excellent time management skills and the ability to respond to changing priorities and manage competing demands.You have the ability to develop understanding of Indigenous cultural protocols and engage with all staff in a manner that is respectful, collegiate and thoughtful. This will also include ability to recognise priorities based on Indigenous values and processes to ensure an atmosphere of cultural safety in the professional context.As Executive Officer, some of your responsibilities will be:
Remuneration/SalaryRemuneration & BenefitsBase Salary Range: $138,882 to $145,495 pa (HEW 9)This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.UTS staff also benefit from a wide range of include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.This position is full-time, and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 12 months to provide backfill coverage for a staff member on secondment.
