Job description: Responsible to assist the Regional Director in the operation of the regional office and
to carry out all regulatory functions of Suruhanjaya Tenaga which includes but not
limited to the following activities:

• Carry out licensing, certification, inspection, monitoring, investigation and

enforcement activities at regional offices to ensure compliance with electricity supply
legislation.

• Carry out activities at regional offices to promote and advise industry and public on

electrical and gas safety, reliability and efficiency.

• Process and recommend licensing/registration of electrical instal ations,

contractors, competent persons as required by the Electricity/Gas Supply Act &
Regulations.

• Carry out regulatory and enforcement works to ensure compliance of Act and

Regulation such as on safety aspects.

• Investigate electrical accidents, fires and complaints from industry stakeholders and

prepare relevant reports.REQUIREMENTS:

• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical and/ or Mechanical)/ Law

or equivalent from a University accredited by the Government; Applicants with a
master degree shal be of advantage;

• Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in electrical and piped-gas industry

regulatory functions or a related field;

• Strong understanding and knowledge of the Electricity/Gas Supply Act &

Regulations and security standards;

• Experience in enforcement of safety and operational standards;

• Possess good interpersonal skil s and strong analytical skil s;
• Possess a positive outlook, disciplined and results-oriented; AND
• Eloquent in Bahasa Malaysia and English language, both written and spoken.
