It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working within structured frameworks, can spot risks early, and takes pride in getting the details right.About the role | Ko te mahi neiIn this administrative, office-based role, you’ll be responsible for guiding event and filming applicants through the Council’s regulatory processes. You will ensure that applications for events and filming in public spaces meet all necessary requirements, consents, and deadlines. This includes interpreting relevant policies and regulations and providing clear, accurate advice to organisers.Key tasks:

  • Facilitating and managing the event and film permit application process for activities on public land.
  • Ensuring that all applications comply with relevant Council processes, legislation, and timeframes.
  • Providing regulatory guidance and documentation reviews (including health & safety and risk assessments).
  • Liaising across a broad range of internal departments and external agencies to support the permitting process.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring database updates, notifications, and documentation are completed in a timely and professional manner.

  • Proven experience in administrative, regulatory or project coordination roles.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation and process.
  • The ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, particularly when dealing with external applicants and internal technical experts.
  • A calm, solutions-focused mindset when working with multiple stakeholders and tight timelines.

This is not an events production role.   • Hours of work: Mon – Friday
  • Position: Full-time, permanent
  • Location: This position is primarily based at Te Hononga Civic Office, 53 Hereford Street.
  • Salary: The salary band for this position goes from $81,227 to $90,252 per annum based on a 40 hour week.
