Job description: Job Description:Wood are actively seeking Expressions of Interest for Senior QA/QC Engineer role to support future growth in our expanding Oman business.
This role will Lead Projects Quality for the Project under Engineering manager , acting as the client technical expert (Subject Matter Expert) for all Technical Quality discipline through: (1) Definition, development and maintenance of Technical Quality philosophies, technical standards and codes of practice, (2) Provide leadership, technical direction and approval of variances to Technical Quality standards and changes to the list of approved vendors and contractors, (3) Development, maintenance and integration of Project Engineering business processes within the Engineering COE, client, and (4) Developing a catalogue of Technical Quality roles and capabilities including accountabilities, competencies and required experience. Forecasting roles, competencies / skills /succession planning, capabilities and headcount required in SRF Projects; in order to support Projects to ensure the continuity and efficiency of the businessResponsibilities:

• Definition, development and maintenance of Technical Quality philosophies, technical standards and codes of practice for the Project
• Provide leadership, technical direction and approval of variances to Technical Quality standards and changes to the list of approved vendors and contractors
• Development, maintenance and integration of Project Engineering business processes within the Engineering
• Developing a catalogue of Technical Quality roles and capabilities across Project and profiles including accountabilities, competencies and required experience. Forecasting roles, competencies / skills /succession planning, capabilities and headcount required in Projects and in engineering in Upstream, Downstream and Renewable/Alternative Energy.
• Providing input into the talent management and training and development programs for Technical Quality engineers.
• Development and maintenance of work categories and an approved list of vendors and contractors for the provision of Technical Quality materials and services.
• Identification and assessment of risks in the Technical Quality discipline and provision of advice to involved Managers on the appropriate method of managing the risk.
• Identification of Technical Quality IT infrastructure
• Develop and lead the execution of Technical audit plans and compliance checks including:

• Site visits
• Participate in technical reviews, SGR, HAZOP, SAT, FAT, PIR and other meetings
• Review and verify that all designs (including deviations) are executed in line with specifications, standards and procedures,
• Provide technical support and advise on new infrastructure, piping and machinery purchases and communicate with the Technical Quality community on novel technology which may have significant improvement in reliability and performance across the Project
• Provides key technical support for Technical Quality on the projects, when required.
• Involvement in Conceptual Studies including options identification, screening, evaluation and selection.
• Provide guidance and expertise on troubleshoot complex Technical Quality issue including spreading lateral learning across the Project and exchange of best practices.
• Provide guidance, direction and assist with the long-term strategy to increase the reliability of all Assets, plants and facilities.
• Providing second level support for addressing recurring Technical Quality problems under asset operation.
• Support the Technical Quality discipline in reviewing management of change (MOC) on technically complicated changes
• Provide direction and technical advice on proactive Technical Quality scope to minimize plant risk
• Maintain the integrity and safeguarding of all data and information resources pertaining to the Technical Quality discipline.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering
• Extensive experience in Oil & Gas Engineering environment
